Wedding guests outfit shopping

Posted on May 31, 2019 at 5:36 pm

Weddings are a very happy event and usually one in which people are very pleased to be invited to. If you have been invited to a wedding then you may start to plan what you are going to wear as soon as possible.

Lots of people love the opportunity to get dressed up for a wedding but before you purchase your special outfit, you may need to find out a bit more about the big day. You need to know if the wedding is going to be outside as you may want to wear heels if it is going to be on a lawn area. This may mean that the dress you wanted to wear is not going to go or is going to be too long, in which case you may have to have a rethink. Also if the wedding is outdoors you may need to plan for rain. Making sure that you have a suitable jacket and umbrella will give you the confidence whatever the weather.

If the wedding is going to be fairly low key then you need to make sure you do not over dress. The last thing you want to do at a wedding is out stage the bride! Wearing a white dress is often a frowned upon.

Some couples decide to have a colour scheme which they would like their guests to fit in to. Finding out this information as soon as possible will give you plenty of time to prepare.

Hair treatments and shopping in one place

Posted on April 10, 2019 at 9:56 am

Oxford Street in London is a prime location for shoppers. It has a wealth of high street and designer stores and makes it one of the busiest streets for shopping in the capital. Many of the retailers have their flagship stores on Oxford Street and often new ideas that they have are first rolled out in these stores.
Primark has recently revealed that its store on Oxford Street has started to offer a certain amount of beauty treatments and hair styling services. Primark is renowned for its cheap fashion clothing and homeware. The store in London is offering treatments such as eyelash tinting, threading and manicures, and if it turns out to be successful this may well be rolled out into other stores across the UK. Along with beauty treatments, hair styling is another service they no offer. They will curl, straighten or style your hair in an up-do for a fraction of the cost you would pay at a top end salon. They hope that by offering this service, people can pop in to choose an outfit for their night out and have their hair done at the same time.

The idea gift for a child’s christening

Posted on March 27, 2019 at 2:16 pm

A child’s christening is a very special moment and often people are invited to celebrate with the child and their parents or carers. It is tradition that people buy the child a gift when it is their christening. Some people give them money or gifts of teddies or toys etc others prefer to go with something a little more traditional. Some of the most common types of gifts for a christening are jewellery such as bracelets, silver or ceramic money boxes, bibles or silverware.

Unless you go to a gift show or jewellers that sell christening gifts you may struggle to find them in usually high street shops. The best way to find the gift you want it to have a look online where you will often have a lot more choice.

If you are ordering online then be sure to allow plenty of time for it to arrive. Ideally, you want to allow enough time to check the item over and make sure it is what you want. If it is not then you still have enough time to order something else or return the item for a replacement.

Fun hairstyles for school

Posted on February 20, 2019 at 3:47 pm

Doing your children’s hair every morning can become a bit dull. They often get fed up with a standard pony tail but with parents under strict instructions to make sure their child’s hair is tied up if shoulder length or below, many parents feel they have little choice.
There are plenty of hair styles that you can use to add a bit of life in to the hair do for school, and it may not take quite as long as you think to master them. Not many parents have much time to be doing hair in the morning before setting off on the school run and children do not like to be sat still for ages either. The trick is practise, you need to find a time when you are not in a rush and practise the hair styles. Sitting your child in front of the TV or with a good book can often buy you 20-30 mins but if your child is really against this you could practise on a styling head doll.
Watching tutorials hat you can pause and rewind will help you see how you can achieve the look you are after. There are thousands of free tutorials on Youtube etc. that show you step by step how to do a number of different styles on different lengths of hair.

Why is sizing so different when it comes to clothing

Posted on January 20, 2019 at 9:29 am

Many people complain about the massive difference in sizing especially when it comes to women’s fashion. You may be a size 12 in one shop but a 10 or 14 in another. This can make it very hard to buy anything without trying it on first.
Even sizing within the same shop can vary and sometimes it’s due to the style of the item but other times it is due to the manufacturer. If the clothing is manufactured in different places then they may class a size 12 differently to what another manufacturer does.
When ordering online you will often find a size guide which gives you the actual measurements used to determine the sizes. This may be a more reliable way of checking which size you need to order.
Before making a purchase online or instore it is important to check what their returns policy is. Many retailers will offer you the chance to return the item but you may not be eligible for a refund. Instead you may have to accept an exchange or a credit note.
If you cannot try the item on due to the fitting rooms being closed or they do not have any, then confirm with the shop if they would be willing for you to return the item for a refund if it doesn’t fit.
