The debate over whether real animal fur should be used in fashion has been with us for much of the 20th Century, and it’s clear that there are passionate arguments on both sides. Fur wearers have even been subject to abuse in public, being coated in red paint and the like. Whilst we can all see that there’s evidently some moral argument that it’s wrong to breed and slaughter animals purely for their skin, and many of us would support a ban, surely there can be no issue with fake fur?
Well, no. Whilst it obviously doesn’t involve the breeding or death of an animal, fake fur does still need to be produced and there are costs involved to doing so. Businesses are always on the look-out for ways to cut costs and not all do this ethically. As people have become more conscious about fur, demand for it has fallen meaning prices fall. In addition, with much production now overseas, quality control has got much more complex.
Ultimately what this means is that real fur is now cheaper to produce than fake fur. It’s perhaps no surprise then that real fur is being passed off as fake fur, leading to a cross-party group of UK MPs calling for a total ban.

If you have an interest in fashion and think you have an eye for design then why not create your own fashion blog? A fashion blog doesn’t need to sell clothes, in fact it is often better if clothes aren’t sold on the site, but rather promote items that have been featured elsewhere or talk about how to dress colours together or what to wear for a certain outfit. You may like to do this purely as a hobby or if you want to try and make an income from it you could start to sell advertising space.
Many people are always interested in the latest fashions and what the celebs are wearing. Finding a picture of a celeb and then finding similar items on the high street can attract a lot of attention as people are always looking for ways to have similar items for less.
If you do want to start to sell your own fashion range then it is best to set it up on a different site. You may then link to it from your blog page to show people where they can purchase an item that you may have featured.

It is important to take care with your child’s hair as damage that is done to it when they are younger can often have an effect on their hair when they are older. Regular cuts can help get rid of split ends and keep it looking fresh. If your child is unsure about having their hair cut, let them have a look through some pictures with you and find styles they like. It is important to remember that if it is long they will still need to be able to tie it back for school.
Try to let your child’s hair dry naturally as much as you can as constant blow drying can cause the hair to dry out and will eventually damage it. It is advisable to use a conditioner on children’s hair especially if it is thick. You can get conditioner which is specially designed for children and wont’ sting if it gets in their eyes. It is not recommended to colour your child’s hair until they are at least 14 years old.
Brush your child’s hair with a soft brush and use a comb or detangle brush to get rid of any knots. Try and show your child how they can take care of their own hair and always make sure to be on the lookout for lice.

Many people all over the UK are starting to look forward to holidays they may have booked months ago that are now only just round the corner. With the awful weather we have experienced in the UK over the last few months, the thought of sun and heat seems like a distant memory to many of us, but with warmer weather on the way the shops have already started to push their summer lines and are ready to get us kitted out for our holidays.
If your wardrobe is in need of some summer clothes to take away with you then now may be the perfect time to do it. Many of the big retailers are having huge sales on to try and entice shoppers in and its not just winter clothes that are in the sale. Debenhams for example had a seven day sale in which they slashed prices on whole ranges such as 50% off Rocha John Rocha. If you are able to bulk buy your holiday clothing they timing it right can save you a small fortune.
If you are unsure as to what the weather is likely to be like when you are away then be sure to buy items that can be layered up. Always make sure you have a jacket or shawl that you can wear if the weather gets cooler in the evenings.

With day to day life taking a toll on or hair and skin, it is important to take time out to put a bit back in to ensure that we look after our hair and bodies. Some people have a strict skin routine and will follow it daily where as other people feel that they simply do not have the time to be putting on face masks and cleansing / toning their skin morning and night.
One of the most important products you can put on your skin is moisturiser. Over winter the cold air and harsh winds can very quickly dry up your skin leaving it looking tired and work out. This can increase the appearance of ageing and can even make make-up applications look cakey and fake.
Simply removing your make up at night by washing or using a make-up remover and adding a moisturiser can really help knock years off you and give your skin that boost it needs. In the summer you may suffer from dry skin due to the heat and again taking a little time out to moisturise may be all you need to do.
Not every moisturiser will suit every person so it is important to try and find one that is right for your skin. Usually moisturisers will be sold as for oily and greasy skin, combination skin or dry skin. You may have to try a few different brands before you find the one that is right for you.
