A visit to the hairdressers

Posted on September 30, 2015 at 8:39 pm

A visit to the hairdressers can cost a reasonable amount of money, especially if you want colours or highlights / lowlights. Therefore it is important that you find one that you trust and that delivers the hairstyle you want.

I recently found a hairdresser that did an excellent job on my hair and so was more than happy to return when I was due to have it done again. Upon arriving at the salon I found out that my usual hairdresser was on maternity leave and therefore I would be having a new person doing it. I didn’t mind this too much as I hoped that the level of service would be the same, but unfortunately this was not the case. The hairdresser was not as experienced and made some quite awful mistakes in bleaching my hair meaning it was left in a very bad condition.

I felt very upset that not only had I paid a lot of money to have my hair done and it didn’t look right it had also damaged my hair meaning that I could not have anything else done at that point to rectify it.

When booking with your hairdresser always confirm who will be doing it and if it is someone you have not had before try and find some reviews on a website first.

Intensive Hair Conditioners

Posted on July 31, 2015 at 11:17 am

Many women and some men take great pride in their hair. They like their hair to look good as often this makes them feel good. With the use of hairdryers, straighteners and colouring it is very easy for the hair to become quickly damaged and you can often see tell-tale signs of his such as split ends and dry, straw like hair.

If your hair is not in great condition then there are many products available to buy that promise to give your hair that glossy, well looked after look. Intensive hair conditioning treatments are a great way to get instant results. After shampooing your hair, apply a thick layer of the conditioner and allow it to remain on your hair for 5-10 mins (read the label to see what is advised for the product you are using). After this you can wash it off and then once dry you should see a noticeable difference. You may have to try a number of treatments to find the one that works for you.

Strengthen Your Hair With Coconut Oil

Posted on December 14, 2014 at 2:49 pm

Haircare is one of the most common queried beauty searches made on Google and it’s not that surprising to be honest. Plenty of research has suggested that females spend up to 5% of their income a month ensuring that their hair is in perfect condition. We’ve chosen to write about one of our favourite ways to strengthen hair – applying coconut oil.

Coconut oil isn’t only good for strengthening your hair, but it’s also good for making your hair glow and look shinier. It’s also probably one of the cheapest treatments out there, with telling results. It’s recommended that you apply coconut oil in your hair and leave it in there for 15 minutes, whilst having your hair covered with a shower cap. After which you wash it out as normal and you’re done. Do this twice a week and we almost guarantee your hair will feel and look much healthier.

Things To Consider When Looking For A Hair Care Professional

Posted on December 12, 2014 at 4:47 pm

Trying to take care of your hair by doing everything on your own can sometimes backfire. You either don’t get the hairstyle that you want or worse you do damage to your hair instead. With that said, it’s very important that you seek the help of hair care professionals because they are considered experts in their fields and they know what’s best for your hair. In short, they know what they are doing. Now, before you choose which hair care professional will work on your hair, there are certain things that you need to take into account. It’s worth reiterating here that not all hairstylists offer the same services. You need to make sure that you end up hiring the most appropriate one.

1) What exactly is it that you want? Is there a particular hairstyle that you want to have? Maybe you wish to change the overall color of your hair. Or have your straight hair curled or the other way around. In any case, you need to be fully aware of what you really want before you get the services of a hair care professional. You can’t just walk into a salon and expect the hairdresser to know what to do with your hair. They can assist in deciding which is best for you but you need to tell them where to start. (more…)

How To Choose The Right Shampoo: Men

Posted on August 28, 2014 at 9:28 am

Finding the right shampoo can be a challenge. Find the right shampoo as a male is an even harder one. You need to consider your hair type, dandruff issues, if you want your hair to look thicker, the list goes on and on.

Go for a thickening shampoo to give your hair a fuller appearance. Just bear in mind, hair is more likely to break due to the swelling of the hair’s cuticle, so use a thickening conditioner from the same brand if possible.

Dandruff shampoos prevent itching and flaking. Be able to tell the difference between dandruff and dry scalp, as they’re not the same thing. Dandruff is thick flakes/irritated scalp, whilst dry scalp is more to do with small white flakes in your hair. Dandruff shampoos dry your hair, so use every other day and alternate with a moisturising shampoo.
